Habakkuk 3:17-18 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
The last of our goats left last weekend.

They went to a lovely home,
one where I may be able to regain some dairy goats someday.
If.
It’s awfully quiet around here though. No hooves on the feeders.
No maa-aaa’s in the morning. Or milk.
My second daughter said my dog was whimpering in the barn.
I think he misses his herd. I need to give him lots of reassurance.

I rejoice that I had the opportunity to raise and use our dairy goats. The empty barn stings, but I remain steadfast in my trust in the Lord to lead me to what is next.
Blessings,

I loved the peace and quiet. I could almost hear the clouds moving across the sky in rhythm to the salt water lapping the beaches.

We’re currently building a small barn for our dairy goats. My husband has never built a barn before, but is doing very well using his knowledge of construction to make it happen. And me? I’ve never milked a goat in my life and although I’m enjoying the animals themselves (they’re so sweet!), my confidence isn’t exactly overwhelming.
